My name is Dane Gonzalez and I'm a dog trainer with Wagging Rights. Dog behavior is fascinating to me and understanding it is a fun yet challenging riddle. Dogs are capable of doing great things. Understanding them and knowing what works for YOU and YOUR dog is key! Patience as well never hurt anybody!
Growing up, there were always dogs in the home. We had goldens throughout the years, a few labs, a West Highland Terrier, Basset Hound and a Newfoundland. Big or small, furry or not so furry; there was always a dog nearby.
In early 2016, I moved up to Saint Charles and soon later got a job as a dog walker for a pet service company. That job gave me the exposure to REALLY see and experience what dogs are. From Corgis, to Malinois, Mastiffs, to the Setters; I was flooded with many different dog breeds. Day in and day out of going on walks around the neighborhood with different breeds, you start seeing patterns in behavior. Not with just the one dog but as a species.

As I started to become confident with interacting and walking dogs, I decided to make dog training a career choice. In early 2018, I enrolled in The Animal Behavior College to become a certified Obedience Dog Trainer. The college allowed me to gain access to priceless information and to do internships to learn hands on from people in the field. I'm forever thankful for all the information and techniques I have gathered from them.
In early November of 2019, I got my certification to be an Obedience Dog Trainer. Soon later, I became the dog trainer for the Pet Service company I was originally dog walking for. For a while, I was doing both dog walking and training then I decided to commit fully to training.
Much like any job, the learning does not stop when you get your degree or certification; it's a continuing journey that never ends. To be the best, learn from the best! Having an open mind, listening and learning from the great minds in a particular field is the key to betterment!
